SAP: Student Assistance Program

North Side's Student Assistance Program (SAP)

What is it?

The Student Assistance Program (SAP) is a confidential, voluntary process designed to gather data to assist in the assessment of the students' needs for help and supports.  The involvement of the parents/guardians of a student is key to this process!

The program is designed to....

  • Provide prevention-based activities and programs.

  • Accept referrals for students who are experiencing barriers to learning and school success such as alcohol or drug use, depression, anxiety, grief, or other concerns.

  • Intervene and refer these students to the appropriate school or community resources.  This is a prevention and an intervention program, not a treatment program.

How Do You Make a Referral?

  • There are SAP referral forms that people can fill out and place in a team member's mailbox.
  • A concerned person could talk to a SAP Team Member and let them know their concerns.
  • Email Kelly Kroeck , School Counselor

Please remember that ALL Referrals are kept Confidential!

Outcome of the team's work will not be known to those who refer students!
